“Private Freight Exchange” is the name of Berlin, Germany-based logistics platform, Trans.eu’s latest digital enhancement: a safe space for online communication between shipper, forwarder, and road feeder service providers.
“With our new Private Freight Exchange platform, we are closing the gap between the contract and spot markets. With the solution, freight forwarders and shippers can quickly and easily set up a private freight exchange with their individual hauler network and use our proven tools for efficient cooperation,” says Aleksandra Marszałek, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Western Europe, Trans.eu.

Trans-who?
Trans.eu is a digital logistics platform for road transport, bringing together shipping companies, logistics operators, forwarders, and trucking companies (carriers). It was launched in 2004, and
now connects more than 40,000 users from Europe to Eurasia, offering three solutions streams: CargoON for shippers (a suite of solutions which include the automatic assignment of loads to the
shipper’s trusted or contracted partners, and access to various forms of spot cooperation with a network of verified carriers and forwarders), Trans for Forwarders suite (for communication with
contractors, freight management, and the digital workflow of documents, as well as a Loads2Go mobile app offering easy access to freight offers), and Trans for Carriers (in this case, Road Feeder
Service providers, who can steer all their interface communication via the platform).
The idea behind this FreightTech, is the creation of ecosystem of data-driven businesses wherein they can seamlessly communicate with each other, employing digitized work processes to steer
transportation. Running as an open system, Trans.eu offers extensive API integration with existing TMS systems
For authorized eyes only
Already, the platform ensures that only bona fide users have access to Trans.eu via a unique verification system. Once approved, users can filter to their preferred transport service providers,
and customize how they work together. All monitoring, quoting, and negotiations on the platform happen in real time. This collaboration has now been made even more secure. “Logistics platform
Trans.eu has developed a new haulage freight exchange, called Private Freight Exchange, which enables freight forwarders to invite haulers to their own secure and private digital space,
communicating directly with their trusted transport service providers,” the release explains. The feature is targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises, since larger forwarders have
access to the Corporate Freight Exchange, for managing their freight allocation and service providers across the corporation’s network. Both exchanges lead to faster communication channels.
Meeting customer requirements
Marcin Haładuda, Global Business Development Manager, Trans.eu said: “Private Freight Exchange is a solution that we developed after a thorough analysis of our customers’ needs. We are
convinced that the Private Freight Exchange can not only solve problems such as working with unknown contractors and slow email/telephone-based communication, but also boost the ability of
European haulage to operate in a far more sustainable way.” Private Freight Exchange thus meets customer demands for better security, and promotes relationships of trust between trucking
services and forwarders, leading to more business between them.
Private Freight Exchange enables the storage of data of recurring freight assignments for greater automation and “also allows market price comparison and can easily interface with existing
transport management systems eradicating the need for any manual data inputting,” the release describes.
