The integrator becomes the first operator of Airbus A330-300 Passenger-to-Freighter converted aircraft. The jetliner can carry up to 62 metric tons over a distance of 6,760 kilometers
(3,650 nautical miles).
Also, Deutsche Post-DHL logistics arm Global Forwarding has introduced a quotation and booking service for general cargo.

DHL Express has placed a firm order for eight A330-300P2F units, with options for receiving an additional 10, at Dresden, Germany-based converter Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), the joint venture between Singapore’s ST Aerospace and aircraft manufacturer Airbus. Geoff Kehr, SVP, Global Air Fleet Management, DHL Express, said on the occasion of the delivery of the first aircraft that the freighter is scheduled “to strengthen our Asia Pacific air network.” It brings added capacity and increased efficiency to a market where express volumes are growing very dynamically.

Ideal freighter for high volume and low density shipments
Andreas Sperl, CEO of EFW said in his introductory remarks that “this delivery marks a milestone
in EFW´s history. It also showcases the synergy formed by the deep operational and engineering expertise between EFW and parent company, ST Aerospace.” He went on to say that “as the most modern
converted freighter in the industry, the A330-300 P2F will support operators well with Fly-By-Wire-technology and 26 full container positions on the upper cargo deck.”
Lim Serh Ghee, President of ST Aerospace stated that “the delivery of our first A330-300P2F is a good start to the conversion programme. We are confident the freighter will serve DHL well, and we
look forward to the next redelivery in early 2018.”
The A330 conversion program comprises two variants – the A330-200P2F and the larger A330-300P2F. The latter is particularly suitable for serving the international express B2B and e-commerce cargo
markets, which typically have a higher volume and lower density, states EFW in a release.
