53 year-old Marc Pinheiro has been nominated Managing Director Air and Ocean Freight at Swiss forwarding agent Militzer & Muench’s German daughter M&M air sea cargo GmbH. As of April, he will take over the position from Klaus Jaeger who leaves M&M on his own request.

Marc Pinheiro is no newcomer to the logistics industry after having worked the last 30 years in different management positions for UTI Worldwide, Panalpina World Transport und Exel China Ltd.
Eight years ago, Marc joined the Leschaco Group becoming their Director Global Restructuring & Solutions. He was based in both Singapore and Bremen, Germany, where Leschaco has its
headquarters.
Major assignments
In his new role, one of his key assignments will be to accelerate M&M's growth in air and ocean freight. Also intensifying the cooperation with Lufthansa Cargo, providing state-of-the-art
services for their new product, myAirCargo is part of Marc's responsibility. It’s a door-door service offered to travelers buying souvenirs that are too large or heavy to fit in the overhead bins
of passenger aircraft. As a result of the partnership with Lufthansa’s freight daughter, Militzer & Muench has become responsible for organizing the transport of goods booked as myAirCargo
within Europe, including customs clearance, security controls and door deliveries. In North America, Lufthansa Cargo collaborates with local partner Pilot Freight Services who is responsible for
all handling services there.

While heading M+M's combined Air and Sea division, Mr Pinheiro will closely cooperate with Tom Rosman, who joined the agent in mid-2016 and has become managing director Road Services as of 1 January.
One task standing high on the agenda of both Rosman and Pinheiro in their offices in Munich and Frankfurt respectively will be bringing the freight business in the Maghreb region up front, particularly in Tangier, Morocco at the interface of the North African and European markets. There, the agent inaugurated a new 10,000 square meter terminal for sea freight last April as a reaction to the growing trade between both continents.
Klaus Jaeger starts a career as logistics consultant
It was Klaus Jaeger, Member of M + M’s Group management and Managing Director global air and sea freight, who pushed these and other M&M business activities forward. The 59 year-old logistics
veteran steps down from his post on own request. Asked by CargoForwarder Global about his plans, Klaus said that he plans to become a logistics consultant after his official M+M departure on 30
March. There is no question that he’s well qualified for his new assignment. Prior to joining M+M in 2013, Klaus held leading executive positions in UTI, Panalpina and Kuehne + Nagel, focusing to
a large extent on air freight.
