This way, the express company recognizes four major carriers for excellence in transporting temperature-sensitive goods and medicines. These are: American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Swiss International Air Lines and United Cargo.

Reliability and excellence are core values in logistics, this is apparently what DHL sees in giving their first CARE Award to four renowned carriers. By doing so, DHL recognized the outstanding
performance of the carriers in air freight transport of temperature-sensitive life sciences products. The accolade was presented at the 16th DHL Global Life Sciences & Healthcare Conference
in Miami, Fla. this week, which was attended by major pharmaceutical and medical devices manufacturers to discuss industry logistics and supply chain trends.
The accolade is designed to encourage carriers
"It is essential that life sciences products remain in strictly controlled conditions during transportation from pharmaceutical manufacturers to hospitals, medical centres, warehouses, and
ultimately to doctors and patients around the world," said Angelos P. Orfanos, President, Life Sciences & Healthcare Sector, DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation. "The new DHL CARE Award
is designed to encourage and recognize air carrier excellence as they pursue great efforts into delivering unrivaled temperature-controlled transportation services for the life sciences
sector."
The four airlines who received the DHL CARE Award achieved the highest ranking out of a pool of 15 carriers who were evaluated in terms of performance, attention to quality and innovative
leadership. The ranking included such performance and excellence indicators as shipment temperature consistency, effective communication, process compliance, airport hub assessments and
near-real-time data sharing.
Close cooperation with carriers ensures product integrity, DHL
David Bang, Global Head of DHL Temperature Management Solutions/CEO LifeConEx at DHL Global Forwarding, pointed out during the award ceremony that as the leading freight forwarder for the Life
Sciences and Healthcare sector, DHL is responsible for the safe transportation of pharmaceutical goods and equipment around the world. It is essential for DHL Global Forwarding to establish,
maintain, and monitor shipment quality standards at every transportation and storage stage of the end-to-end supply chain. "By working together with the airline carriers, DHL ensures in-transit
pharmaceutical product integrity. We are doing more than raising quality management standards; we are also supporting pharmaceutical manufacturers and medical institutions in their efforts to
support everyday life."
At the Miami event, Ashwin Bhat, Head of Cargo at Swiss appreciated that his carrier’s reliability and excellence in transporting temperature critical goods gets a wide recognition, as shown by
the DHL CARE Award. “It makes us very proud that we have been awarded by DHL – and it encourages us to further improve on these core values and continue finding innovative solutions for our
clients,” Ashwin stated.

hi,
personally I think EK cargo and LCAG are also very strong and professional on PIL air transport -with reliable and good quality . In mainland China, LCAG is the spearhead to start the active PIL air shipping around 16 years ago by using Envirotainer's coolcontainer , no other airlines are earlier than LCAG in P.R.China
