Malaysia-based Raya Airways, the former Transmile Air Services, has announced it will expand its current network and freighter fleet this year, by operating its B757-200 freighter to Jakarta and Hanoi starting early next month and adding five more freighters by the third quarter of 2016.

Malaysia's only cargo operator currently mainly serves East and West Malaysia, as well as Singapore. In a statement, Raya Airways commercial director, Lee Shashitheren said that: “2016 will bear
witness of Raya Airways’ growth, translated through the exercise of fleet expansion and introduction of new destinations. By the 3rd Quarter of 2016, we will have three new B767-200F and two new
B757-200F aircraft.”
Expanding network
“The fleet expansion is a very good sign that our services are highly-sought after and we have to increase the number of aircraft to cater for the demand by our customers.” Raya Airways also aims
to achieve a total of eleven destinations this year, while additional destinations could follow.
The carrier was established in 1993 as Transmile Air Services and rebranded itself as Raya Airways in 2013, following its exit from the Transmile Group. Raya is based at Subang Airport, near
Kuala Lumpur.
