The International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) has elected Huxiang Zhao as its new president during the recent World Congress of the Federation, which took place last week in Taiwan’s capital Taipei.

Mr Zhao is chairman of Sinotrans, chairman of DHL-Sinotrans and president of CIFA, FIATA’s association member in China. He succeeds Francesco Parisi from Italy, who will now serve as immediate
past president for the next two years.
During his presidency, Mr Zhao will be assisted by other board members including Jean-Claude Delen (Belgium) who has been re-elected treasurer, and Robert Voltmann (USA) who replaces Heiner Rogge
(Germany) as secretary general, as well as three senior vice presidents from Asia, Europe and Africa.
They include Babar Badat (Pakistan), who was re-elected senior VP, and Ivan Petrov (Bulgaria) and Basil Pietersen (South Africa), who were elected senior VPs for the first time.
