U.S.-based aircraft lessor GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) has placed an order with Aeronautical Engineers, Inc for up to twenty Boeing 737-800 passenger-to-freighter conversions.

´AEI is one of several conversion specialists which has launched a P2F programme for narrow-body aircraft and has so far booked orders for some 50 conversions from two customers in this
segment.
GECAS is considered to be one of the largest lessors of freighters with almost 50 737 freighters placed with carriers in China, Europe and the Americas.
Announcing the order at the recent Paris Air Show, GECAS said the conversion of the first aircraft is expected to be complete in the third quarter of 2017. Potential clients for the converted
freighters include the rapidly expanding express operators in China which are enjoying strong growth due to China's booming e-commerce industry.
