Siemens Appoints Overwater as Chief of New Logistics Unit SPPAL

Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics GmbH (SPPAL) has announced the appointment of Remco Overwater to Head of Sales and Project Execution effective June 15, 2015.

In his new position, he is responsible for global sales and project management in the mail and parcel sorting as well as in the baggage and air cargo handling businesses.
Overwater, a mechanical engineering graduate, has had many years of experience in management positions in medium-sized companies in the logistics sector. He joins SPPAL from Vanderlande Industries where he was managing director/member of the Executive Board and responsible for the Warehouse Automation and Parcel & Postal business units.
Overwater, a native Dutchman, suceeds Michael Lampen, who is leaving the company by mutual agreement. Lampen will continue to serve Siemens in an advisory capacity over the next few months.
Headquartered in Constance, Germany, SPPAL has been run as a new, independent company under the Siemens umbrella since June 15, 2015.
