The U.S. logistics group, Expeditors, has been awarded this year’s “Planet Award of Excellence” from Lufthansa Cargo. The award which was presented at the annual meet of Lufthansa Cargo
with its top customers was won for the second time in a row by Expeditors.

Lufthansa Cargo chose Expeditors again this year due to the fact that the logistic service providor managed to impress upon LH their intense cooperation on the transport of temperature-sensitive
cargo and the company’s exemplary global commitment to the digitalising processes.
Winning for two consecutive years is something quite rare
The last time was recorded back in 2007.
Expeditors won last year because of what was seen as their outstanding performance in global cooperation and the U.S. company’s exceptional position in the global logistics industry.
Dr Alexis von Hoensbroech, Board Member Product & Sales at Lufthansa Cargo stated on presenting the award to Expeditors Vice President Air Cargo, Jose Ubeda, that, “Expeditors has been part
of Lufthansa Cargo’s Global Partnership programme since 2007 and cooperation is more successful than ever.”
He went on to say that “both companies share the philosophy of consistently coordinating processes with one another and thus optimising business relationships.”
11 multinationals account for 50-plus percent of LH Cargo’s tonnage
Mr Ubeda on accepting the award stated that “we are very proud to win the Planet Award of Excellence for the second time in a row. To receive this award from one of the world’s leading airlines
is both recognition and motivation for us at Expeditors.”
LH Cargo’s Global Partnership Programme has apart from Expeditors a further ten members made up from the international air cargo and logistics community.
These eleven members account for more than fifty percent of Lufthansa Cargo’s worldwide sales.
Remains to be seen who will get it next year.
