Cebu Pacific, Cargohaus Open Screening Facility at Manila Airport

Philippine low cost carrier Cebu Pacific and its local logistics and warehouse partner, Cargohaus have opened a cargo inspection terminal at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal-3, to screen import and export cargo shipments.

The terminal, the first of its kind in Asia, can accommodate and screen up to nine tonnes of air cargo dollies and ULDs and is powered by a low-energy X-ray source. It uses advanced material discrimination software that provides high-quality images of the contents of freight and baggage.

The Smiths Detection CIP-300 air cargo inspection portal will be for Cebu Pacific’s priority use for all transhipment cargo loaded on international flights to and from Manila, the airline said in a statement.

Cebu Cargo currently serves 34 domestic and 27 international destinations. Its services also include transhipments through 21 interline global partners.

Cebu Pacific’s fleet includes eight Airbus A319s, 33 A320s, six A330s and eight ATR-72s. carrier has seven A320ceo and 30 A321neo aircraft on order.
