The cargo division of Swiss Air Lines has launched a new application that enables customers worldwide to access its interactive services from their smartphone or tablet. The carrier stresses that this service is “a further milestone” in its ongoing endeavors to bring greater digitization to the airfreight sector.

Making the air freight biz easier and more comfortable for customers is one of the cornerstones that have been long pursued by the airline. The now presented App is another step forward in
closing in on this aim. In a today issued release Swiss WorldCargo lists the different functionalities offered by the application on all mobile devices:
- Track’n Trace: cargo shipment status via the air waybill number
- Timetable: all the details of all current connections
- Booking Contacts: full contact information for all Swiss WorldCargo offices worldwide including email, phone and fax numbers
- Products & Services: at-a-glance details of Swiss WorldCargo’s various products and services
States says Alain Guerin, Head of Marketing at Swiss WorldCargo: “This new App confirms our commitment to continuously investing in digital solutions.” He goes on to say: “This includes trialing different ways of delivering our services on mobile platforms. And our first app marks a small but significant milestone in this direction.”
It can be expected that Swiss WorldCargo’s Chief Oliver Evans and his team will present the air freight community more innovative solutions in the time ahead, presumably even the use of drones
