Evans Welcomes DeBenedette at TIACA’s Board

TIACA Chairman Oliver Evans managed to get a big fish on his organization’s hook: John DeBenedette, Managing Director of Worldwide Information Network - WIN. He’s expected to boost technology expertise on The International Air Cargo Association’s Board.

WIN is an online platform for independent freight forwarders to connect with partner agents, airlines, container lines, and other logistics service providers for secure, digital, shipment-level collaboration in the cloud.

“I am delighted to see an industry-solution like WIN providing a simple and cost-effective pathway to participate in e-AWBs,” stated former Global Head of Cargo at IATA, Des Vertannes in a testimonial. His statement is in full accord with other clients that laud the saving of time, money and enhanced customer service through WIN-managed electronic information enabling end-to-end shipment visibility.

Now, the helmsman of this highly innovative IT platform has joined the TIACA Board. “We are delighted to have John’s expertise to strengthen our Board,” enthused the organization’s Chairman, Oliver Evans.

John’s main task will be – no wonder – to push for wider adoption of e-freight and to support TIACA’s membership drive. “TIACA achieves a level of intimacy, vibrancy, and action-orientation to move the ball down the field that is unique and valuable in my experience. It draws a diverse and committed group of industry leaders to all of its meetings, committees, and workshops, working in concert on topics in common with other industry groups,” he comments. “I look forward to contributing as a member of the Board.”

As to his professional career TIACA points out that DeBenedette has held general management, sales, marketing, and technology leadership positions, including seven years with logistics giant DB Schenker and eleven years building the INTTRA platform where over 20 percent of global container trade is transacted electronically with each other, and with air, sea, and freight carriers.
Final word from Oliver Evans: “We look forward to working with John on the many exciting programs TIACA has put in place to drive our Association forward for its members.”
