Swiss WorldCargo which is the airfreight arm of Swiss International Air Lines has signed an interesting Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WCA Ltd which is the world’s leading freight forwarding network for independent logistics providers.

Pharma, Time Critical and DGR
Under this agreement both companies agree to undertake a number of unique cross-cooperation projects.
This cooperation will concentrate on the WCA Pharma, WCA Time Critical and WCA Dangerous Goods products.
Both companies see this cooperation as being an important a step in generating a range of new business opportunities in the above mentioned sectors of the industry.
In order to accomplish this, managers of both companies will arrange regular regional meetings to ensure the efficiency, quality and accessibility of so called “end-to-end logistics solutions”
for specialized shippers that will meet the highest quality standards.
On top of this, it is intended that both organizations will exchange product and operational information in order to drive growth and cost efficiencies across these sectors of air transport.
Top managements of both companies are convinced this is a good move.
Oliver Evans, Swiss International Air Lines Chief Cargo Officer states: “we already have an excellent name in the targeted market segments which we have achieved through the relentless pursuit of
reliability, quality and customer responsiveness.”

Nevertheless, he goes on to say, the logistics market is complex and customers need a range of solutions to support and develop their supply chains. “WCA have created innovative networks offering
proven benefits to their participating members and we see our partnership with them as a complement to our existing offer which opens the door to new, flexible and pragmatic solutions for end
users across the globe.”
WCA stresses the importance of the independent logistics sector.
David Yokeum, President of WCA is enthused with this new partnership agreement and adds that it is good to see that many airlines are now recognizing the growing importance of the independent
logistics sector as being healthy for the industry as a whole.
He states: “our members have an unbeatable reputation for quality, service and innovation - especially in this niche, but with highly important verticals within our industry. By working closely
with SWISS, which itself has established such a strong global reputation as a leader in these sectors, we can help bring even greater value to the ultimate users - the shippers and
consignees.”
The WCA managers wishes to stress the fact that the recent release of industry data shows that the independent logistics sector is greatly increasing its global air freight market share.
