IAG Cargo, the mother company of British Airways Cargo and Iberia Cargo, announced that it has expanded its “Cargo Connector Service” within the U.S.A.
This innovative service which is already in effect in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Atlanta, has now been extended to Houston and Seattle. This new addition follows on a
successful three week trial which was undertaken at both airports by IAG Cargo staff.

The Cargo Connector Service, the only one of its kind in the U.S., is somewhat unique, in that shipments which weigh less than 300 kilos are picked up in these cities personally by IAG Cargo
directly from the freight forwarders warehouse and taken to the airport of departure.
All this, at no extra cost to the agents.
Furthermore, if required, cargo screening is included in this service.
This gives freight forwarders the chance to book shipments on IAG services at short notice and releases them from the need to deliver with their own drivers, an action which can be expensive,
especially in peak times.
The cargo is picked up by IAG Cargo-branded vans and the drivers can also process and pick up additional bookings on the spot.

Joe LeBeau, IAG Cargo’s Commercial Manager North America states, “we have been delighted by the success of Cargo Connector in the U.S. Our launch cities, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles are
now experiencing high levels of demand for the service and word is spreading fast.”
Joe commented further that the demand for the Cargo Connector Service in Houston and Seattle was so high that IAG decided to fully launch it after an only three week trial period.
He adds that the service is especially attractive for low weight shipments and high value goods as well as shipments from the electronics industry.
IAG Cargo now offers this innovative service at seven U.S. gateways as well as at IAG Cargo’s UK hub at London Heathrow.
Innovation at its best!
The industry needs more of this type of service to make air freight more attractive.
