CEVA LOGISTICS Picks up a New COO

In an announcement made on May 14th, CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain management companies, appointed Michael Schaecher as its Chief Operating Officer for Global Airfreight.

Michael, who was until last year, CEO of Air Cargo Germany (ACG), will in his new position report directly to CEVA’s CEO, Xavier Urbain.
He brings with him many years of experience in the air cargo world, having held senior positions in the past with DHL Global Forwarding, Star Broker and Panalpina World Transport.

The position which was previously held by Bruno Sidler is no easy one in today’s volatile market and it is expected of Michael that he will adapt and develop CEVA’s air freight product with the aim of enhancing their clients present and future needs.
In the announcement it was stated that CEVA intends to strengthen it’s air cargo business line with the aim of taking back market share. This is planned through constant innovation, cost leadership and a clear focus on operational excellence.

CEO, Xavier Urbain is quoted as saying: “I am pleased to bring someone of Michael Schaecher’s experience and successful track record to CEVA to oversee and expand our important global airfreight business.” He also added, “I am confident that under his leadership he will build a strong and profitable airfreight business for CEVA.”

Michael Schaecher added that, “I am delighted to be joining CEVA’s management team and to lead its global airfreight business line. This is a company with a promising setup, end-to-end logistics capabilities and a strong geographical footprint.”

Good luck Michael, you certainly have a full workload ahead of you!
